The Winery
Bodegas Valtea is a family project of Carla González Chao and Lázaro Moreno Carrera. Their ancestors have been involved in the world of wine for several generations, both in winemaking in Galicia and in the Portuguese Douro.
During the first years of the nineties, they searched for the right land to give shape to the project of making distinctive Albariño wines with a strong personality. This search took shape in an estate of low production but of exceptional quality. It is an estate where vines have been grown since time immemorial.
Our philosophy
Wine is made in the soil, wine is made by the vine… These are two metaphors that have become the great philosophical principles that govern our winemaking practice.
Knowing that the Albariño grape is one of the most complex grapes, perhaps the one with the best properties for making high quality white wines, we set off on what has now become a passion for Albariño.
Albariños born from harvests carried out with the selection of the best bunches and with grapes in a perfect state of ripeness.
